Richard Worsam Meade 2nd Collection, 1839-1864.

The collection is comprised of correspondence received by Captain Meade while in command of various vessels and at the New York Navy Yard; a list of officers aboard Washington at the seizure of Amistad after the slave uprising in 1839; lists of officers and watch records aboard San Jacinto; and materials related to the inquiry into John McLaughlin's conduct during the Florida campaign against the Seminole Indians.
